Ann Turkel

Today, the actress and former cover girl is living with her family in Beverly Hills with her dogs Samantha and Olivia (above and left). The couple was married only eight years, and divorced for twenty years. Ann Turkel is still struggling to come to terms with the death of her husband, Richard Harris. Turkel is a native of New York. She was born in Manhattan and is from a Jewish, middle class family, was a student at the Neighborhood Playhouse and American Musical and Dramatic Academy when she was sixteen. Ann Turkel enjoys one of most fascinating and varied career paths in the world of entertainment. Her success in movies, television, models, and in business has been recognized worldwide. Growing up in Manhattan, Ann always had an aptitude for entertaining. When she was in the 5th grade when she was in the fifth grade, she started dancing lessons. Her studies continued in the arts in college. Her mother is acknowledged for inspiring her creativity. Ann studied in school for dance, acting and singing. Ann at the time was sixteen years old, studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse (formerly the Musical Theatre Academy) and at the Musical Theatre Academy under some great acting coaches in the city. This were Sandy Meisner & Philip Burton. Ann joined her classmates in a group called a rock group and started singing. She also performed a season of summer stock stage on stage at the Berkshire Playhouse in Stockbridge, Massachusetts performing in plays like The Pajama Game" and West Side Story. Ann was spotted at a Vogue Magazine fashion show by Gloria Schiff, an editor. Within the next week, Vogue's editor-in chief Diana Vreeland had Ann shoot her first Vogue cover in collaboration with photographer Richard Avedon. Ann went onto become one of most coveted models ever, and her work was featured in top fashion magazines such as Vogue Bazaar and Cosmopolitan. Ann was a successful model in Europe, Japan and other global markets for two several years. Ann was the face of giants in cosmetics like Max Factor Revlon or Chanel.
